Christiana High School

Our Club Services

Live Zoom Meetings
Every Thursday's weekly, we offer Zoom meetings to go over and share our writing experience. While some may not have a lot, that's totally fine! We take this 1 hour meeting to practice our writing skills, putting in our effort with different types of plots to write about, converse with one another and share what we have created, exchange questions, and learning new forms of writing in the process.
Submission
Novice Ink.'s programmer, Hairum, is proud to announce the website now has a built-in submission form for you to upload your stories for our editors to review! Through uploading your story and getting it reviewed + edited, you have a chance for people to experience your writing and creativity in a presentable manner.
Editing
Our club consists of group members that are in charge of editing any stories that are submitted through the website. You essentially send in a draft of your story/essay/poem, and our editors will edit your story so they will have a final copy ready to publish (if you wish). This service is free, but please be warned not to use this service to your advantage in terms of academic gain and/or cheating. That will not be tolerated!
Publication
With your given permission, we will respectively publish your story on the website in the correct genre. Of course, this is only if you give us permission and after our editors edit your story for any grammar and punctuation errors. Publishing your story is not mandatory.

Frequently Asked Questions

I’m interested in joining the club, but how do I join it exactly?

Simple! To be able to join the club, you'll need the Zoom link to join our club meetings. To get the Zoom link, contact us by letting us know you're interested and we'll go from there!

Is there a charge?

Nope! It's all free of charge for a small simple service we hope will benefit you!

What will I get out of this club?

We hope you will achieve the ability to improve your writing and storytelling. This club is also a great benefit for getting heard by more experieced writers that hopefully you can learn (more) from!

When are the meetings?

Our club meetings are every Thursday's weekly from 1:00 PM EST to 2:00 PM EST.

Do I need to be a club member to send in my story?

Nope! We encourage everyone to give us a glimpse of the writing potential you have to share to the world! Please be sure to read our guidelines before sending us your story!

Do I need to be a CHS student to publish a story and/or join the club?

At the moment, yes. Because this is a Christiana High School writing club, we can't really allow people who aren't from CHS to join the club. Note: this rule might change.

How old do I need to be to join the club?

You must be in 9th-12th grade to join the club.

I've sent a message but I've still not heard back yet. Did I do something wrong?

Most likely not. If you've sent a query through the contact form through the Novice Ink. website, please give us at most 1 week to respond to your question sent in. Chances are, the club members may be busy. If it's urgent, feel free to send a follow-up email after a week.

How do I report a glitch/malfunction/error that I've encountered on the website?

Whether that would be mobile unfriendliness or whatever the case may be, please be sure to let us know by specifying the issue when writing in the contact form. Title the message as "Website Issue" or something similar so we can address it ASAP. Your feedback is important to us!

How/where do I send in my story?

The first step would be to read through our story submission guidelines. This ensures your story fits school standards and is appropriate. Next, fill out the permissions form (labeled "Form" on the home page) before beginning the process of submission. This ensures we have your permission on specifics that lead into the process. Next, after doing so, you're ready to upload! Head over to the specific genre your story is, scroll down to the bottom, and you should see a form. Everything else from there is self explanatory!

Why is my account disabled?

Novice Ink. is very serious on the respect of its members. If we find you're violating our terms after stating explicit rules, we'll send you a warning email. If you disregard that email, Novice Ink. will reserve the right to disable your account after a certain period. If the negative behavior persists even after your account gets enabled, your account will be deleted and your email will be recorded to further prohibit you from using this site. However, if you find this to be a mistake, please feel free to email Novice Ink.'s programmer, Hairum at hairumq@noviceinkwritersclub.com

Why is my account deleted?

Most likely it's because you've disregarded the warning email and persisted on the negative behavior even after your account got enabled. If you find this to be a mistake, please feel free to email Novice Ink.'s programmer, Hairum at hairumq@noviceinkwritersclub.com. But please note, that once your account gets deleted, it cannot be recovered and this is usually a last resort measure to members who do not respect our guidelines and ruling. This is not something that will happen to you out of the blue unless there's a legitimate reason. If this were to occur by accident, Novice Ink. will message you regarding what happened and provide you your data.

Do I need writing experience to join this club?

Nope! Whether you have a passion for writing, tend to write a lot or a little, you do not need much exprience :).
